BIOGRAPHY
Mrs. Elnora Ginete Losa was born on March 4, 1929 in the Municipality of Valladolid, Negros Occidental. Her parents were the late Filizardo Ginete of Valladolid, Negros Occidental, and Adriana David of Odiong, Altavas, Aklan. She is the eldest of two siblings.
She studied at her primary school in Binalbagan, Negros Occidental, and transferred to Altavas Elementary School, where she finished her elementary education as a class salutatorian. She attended Banga Rural High School, now Aklan State University, where she excelled academically and graduated as class valedictorian. Her teachers recognized her exceptional abilities and encouraged her to pursue a degree in college. Upon graduating from Banga Rural High School, she was accepted into the prestigious University of Sto. Tomas, where she pursued a Bachelor of Science in Education, majoring in English. The university provided her with a platform to further develop her skills and expand her knowledge in the field of education.
She is married to Dr. Federico P. Losa(+), CPH, a native of Pili, Camarines Sur, and a graduate of the University of Sto. Tomas and a retired Asst. Provincial Health Officer II at Aklan Provincial Health Office. They were blessed with three children. The eldest is Miss Lenore G. Losa (+), a former employee at Mega Data Corporation, a graduate, and a class valedictorian of their batch at Altavas National School. The second child is Mrs. Lezette Losa-Ramizo, also a high school valedictorian, Manager, Financial Markets at the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, who graduated and was recognized as the Top 7 of their batch at the University of the Philippines, Manila. The third child is Mr. James Lyle G. Losa, a Bachelor of Science in Commerce with a major in Business Administration graduate who is now working at Rural Bank of Altavas as a bank teller.
Mrs. Losa is one of the few people who can be commended for her dedicated and tireless service in the promoting of the goals for national development. Under her leadership, she turned Altavas National School into one of the most beautiful and effective schools in the province. Her journey is characterized by a deep commitment to serving others, a relentless pursuit of personal growth, and an unwavering belief in the power of kindness. Her background and experiences have shaped her into a remarkable individual, inspiring others to follow in her footsteps and make a positive difference in the world.
During the 70th Altavas National School Grand Alumni Homecoming, she received a Plaque of Appreciation for her faithful and dedicated service to Altavas National School as a secondary school teacher, Teacher-In-Charge, Principal I, and Principal II—a service which is unequaled in the history of the school.

- She is the longest-serving principal of Altavas National School (1964-1994).
Socio-Political
- After her retirement, Mrs. Elnora G. Losa served as barangay secretary of Barangay Poblacion, Altavas, Aklan. As barangay secretary, she assisted residents by providing information about barangay programs, services, initiatives, and events. She also handled inquiries, received complaints, and referred individuals to the appropriate barangay officials. She was also responsible for maintaining and updating official barangay records and assisting in disseminating information, promoting community programs, and fostering good relations between the barangay and its constituents. She also served as head of the Office of Senior Citizen Affairs (OSCA) in the Municipality of Altavas.
Socio Economic
- She is a former president of the Rural Bank of Altavas, in charge of approving loans that had helped small business people.
Education
- Mrs. Elnora G. Losa is a retired Principal of Altavas National School from 1964 to 1994. During her administration, the school acquired school buildings, books, instructional facilities, and the upgrading of teachers’ competencies through seminars and trainings. Thus, the school became the Divisional Leader School of Aklan.
Spiritual
- During the outbreak of World War II and to avoid the Japanese Guerilla Forces, her family hid in a small nipa hut along the mangrove area in her barangay. With so much time, she started her spiritual devotion by reading the bible amid the war. She became a member of Catholic Women’s League-Altavas Chapter and a former secretary of the Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) in Altavas. She is a churchgoer. She used to attend mass every Sunday to maintain her strong faith in God. She also taught catechism to the Altavas Holy Child Parish Church children.
