BIOGRAPHY
Mr. Hippocrates S. Motus had a modest beginning when he was born on September 12, 1950, in San Isidro, Ibajay, Aklan, to his parents, Gaudiosa Sespeῇe Sumcad, a teacher, and Hermenegildo Santia Motus, a dentist who worked for the Rural Health Unit in the municipality of Ibajay.
He completed his elementary education at Ibajay Central School in 1963, his secondary education at Melchor Memorial School in 1967, and his postsecondary education at Aklan College, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1975, before completing his education units at Manuel L. Quezon University in 1978. Additionally, he pursued a Master of Arts in Education with a concentration in Educational Management at Northwestern Visayan Colleges, finishing his 45 units in 2005. He later passed the Professional Board Examination for Teachers in 1978 after passing the civil service examination for professionals in Manila in 1976. In 1985, he was appointed Provincial Paid Secondary School Teacher 1 at Naisud Barangay High School. In 1988, he was promoted to Teacher-In-Charge of Naisud Barangay High School due to his enthusiasm in the position and the demands of his duties.

SIGNIFICANCE
Social: Known for being a disciplinary type of leader, he served as role model of punctuality, proper haircut of males and proper dress code as a government employee. He served as host, judge, speaker and consultant in occasions even in nearby barangays. With his friendly personality, he usually does house visits to the houses of students in the community. With that act, he is acquainted with the stakeholders of the institution.
Aesthetic: For being fond of horticulture, he donated giant pots to the school to support School Beautification Program. As a plant lover, he preferred flowering plants and well-painted fences and jars in the school garden because he believed that bright colors bring happiness.
Spiritual: A devotee of Sr. Sto. Niño de Ibajay, he is very supportive to the festival activities and act as one of the organizers of the program. He sponsored mass in Barangay Religious Fiesta and owned a saint who once participated in the Ibajay Parish parade of saints during Lenten Season.
Economic: Upon retirement, he donated 10 manual sewing machines to Naisud NHS pioneer TVL-Dressmaking students. It is a good start for the students to learn the basic steps in making blouse and skirt which serve as their stepping stone of being local designers of outfits for different occasions. He is also one of the pioneers of putting up Ibajay Tourism that spearhead the showcasing of what the municipality has to offer to the people visiting the town.
Historical: He was the first Principal of Naisud Barangay High School, now Naisud National High School. According to him, he’s the only principal in Aklan who was not transferred to other station until his retirement in year 2015.
