II. BIOGRAPHY
Mrs. Jeanna Zolina Cosepe is a woman worthy of emulation because of her compassion, industry and selfless dedication in rendering her service to the field of education and the community. Mrs. Cosepe was one of the notable school head in the District of Libacao for several years because of her exemplary work in school beautification, improvement, and maintenance programs which made Guadalupe National High School one of the of the most beautiful school in the Division of Aklan. She has remained to be a person of constant determination and vision during her entire service as school head in the above-named school.
Madam Jeanna as most of the people in school and the community called her was born on July 9, 1962 at Guadalupe, Libacao, Aklan. She is the fourth child among the nine (9) children of the late Juanito Saldivia Zolina and Asteria Inosanto Orbista. Both were natives of Libacao. She belongs to a typical family where faith in God and love are the strongest foundation. Despite the hardships and uncomfortable situations in their lives, she was able to persevere and worked hard to be the person she wanted to become.
Mrs. Cosepe’s educational journey began at Guadalupe Elementary School in the year 1969 to 1975 where she graduated as an Outstanding Pupil. She then continued her secondary education at Libacao Barangay High School now, Libacao National Forestry Vocational High School in the year 1975 to 1979 and graduated with honors. To pursue her dreams, she enrolled in college and took up Bachelor of Science in Industrial Education Major in Home Economics at Roxas Memorial College of Arts and Trade from 1979 to 1983 and graduated as Cum Laude. She was also a grantee of a Scholarship Program of Gabriel M. Reyes’s Foundation which helped her survived her college course. Persistently, she had surpassed the obstacles towards achieving her goals in education.
After finishing her college degree, she took and successfully passed the Licensure Examination for Teachers. She became a Substitute Teacher in the year 1983 and was appointed as a Regular-Permanent Teacher in October of the same year. With so much eagerness and strong desire to advance in her career, she was able to earn forty-five (45) units in Master of Arts in Education, Major in Educational Management and was promoted as Master Teacher I in 2005. Her passion in teaching had embossed significant impact to her fellow teachers and students which made her a remarkable teacher.
Unstoppable as she is, Mrs. Cosepe pursued her career towards her dream of becoming a school administrator. She had successfully passed the Principals Test in 2007 and was appointed as School Principal I on March 3, 2008. Her leadership and service as School Principal to Guadalupe National High School marked the most memorable part of her life as she was able to serve with excellence and selflessness. She was awarded as the Most Persevering School Principal in the whole Division of Aklan in the year 2008. It is also with her persistence, sincerity, and strong support in all endeavors of the learners and the school that made Guadalupe National High School one of the best schools in the District of Libacao.
Mrs. Cosepe’s journey as school leader was truly exceptional. To her, rendering her service to the school and the community became smooth and easy because of her family. She dedicated her hard work and success to her loving husband, the late Rolex Macahilig Cosepe and her children, Kristine Azcel Zolina Cosepe and Kriszel Ann Zolina Cosepe who are both Licensed Professional Teachers now.
After her retirement from public service as a school administrator, she consistently extends her invaluable support to the school being one of the active stakeholders.
Indeed, Mrs. Jeanna Zolina Cosepe had served with commendable and satisfying service as the first ever school head of Guadalupe National High School leaving her legacy of being an enthusiastic, lenient, persistent, positive and hardworking woman. Her remarkable works in the field of education serves as the footprints where every individual who became part of her life be inspired to serve with commitment and live with a purpose.
III. SIGNIFICANCE
SOCIAL
Mrs. Jeanna Zolina Cosepe was the first Principal of Guadalupe National High School and had served the school for fourteen (14) years. She was the woman behind the formation of extension class in Barangay Alfonso XII, Libacao, Aklan and work out for the establishment of a National High School in the same barangay. She exerted a lot of effort and spent her own money to support the processing of the requirements in the opening of Alfonso XII National High School.
Because of her dedication and commitment to service, Guadalupe National High School won in the Brigada Eskwela as Best School Implementer in 2009. The school was concluded as One of the Most Beautiful Schools in the Division of Aklan and also a regional qualifier in the said search.
As an educator, Mrs. Cosepe has led community projects involving the constituents of Barangay Guadalupe and Julita through a Clean and Green and Beautification program. This is an extension program concerning the Brigada Eskwela connecting the school and the community.
SOCIO-ECONOMIC
She became an inspiration to parents through her craftmanship and skills in cooking where she had imparted knowledge and techniques in baking as well as crocheting and cross-stitching.
SPIRITUAL
She has served as Treasurer of the parochial church of St. Vincent Ferrer of Barangay Guadalupe for twenty-four years. She has lots of contribution in the development of the church.
