SIGNIFICANCE

Historical

Libacao Elementary School (LES), presently Libacao Central Elementary School (LCES) is considered as one of the oldest schools in the District of Libacao.

Sociocultural

Barangay Poblacion where Libacao Central Elementary School is located is considered small compared to other barangays in the municipality but rich when it comes to customs, tradition, practices, and beliefs.

The school Head, Teaching Staff and pupils participate during the parade and programs. The celebration of the religious fiesta in honor of Patron Saint Catherine of Alexandria every November 24-25 of the year captivated the desire of many devotees to work hard to make the celebration meaningful. Novenas, procession up to the high mass and many believers admit that Saint Catherine of Alexandria had touched their lives due to their devotion and faith. Anchored to this religious fiesta events like Search for Miss Libacao, Amateur Singing Contest, Laro ng Lahi, Parlor Games, social dances make the celebration memorable. Baesa Parada is one the highlights of the celebration because it showcases the mode of transportation of most Libacaonons and the exhibit of native products of Libacao which made the municipality popular. It continuously supports culture, agriculture, tradition, religion and education for the betterment of the future generations.

Social

Libacao Central Elementary School Stage and LCES Multi-Purpose Covered Gym are currently used for social gatherings and activities not only by the school but by the entire municipality. They cater school and district activities like technolympics, Quiz bee, assemblies, meetings and trainings both for public and private offices. They also served as a venue for the 2019 Unit II Athletic Sports Meet where Libacao is the host district.

ASSESSMENT OF THE INSTITUTION

Condition/Status of the Institution

School buildings are in good condition and conducive to learning. School Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses(MOOE) is one of the sources of funds to sustain school operations. Donations from PTA and other stakeholders are of great help to improve school environment.

Constraints/Threats/Issues/Challenges

Marcos Building and Bagong Lipunan building and other need major repair and rehabilitation. Allocation funds from Department of Education is essential. The school administrator and stakeholders were challenged to sustain the improvement of the school because it is located within the town proper where visitors are always coming to visit the school to conduct monitoring, evaluation, and technical assistance.

Measures and Description of Safeguarding Measures Taken

Consistent communication to the concerned agency was the top priority of the school administrator. In fact, we have an ongoing repair of 3 classrooms (Kindergarten, Grade 1 Star and Grade 1 A). PTA and the LCES teaching staff are looking for donors in order to rehabilitate the school stage. Through the collaborative efforts of the school administrator, teachers, parents, and stakeholders, the school always excel in many competitions and activities represented by learners, teachers and the school itself as entries of the district. The school likewise delivers quality basic education following the K to 12 Curriculum from Kindergarten to Grade 6.
