Significance
Historical
Dr. Reinalda I. Magdaluyo is the only Numanciahanon and Aklanon woman to have served as Regional Director of the Department of Education – Western Visayas.
Her greatest legacy in the province of Aklan was the conversion of the Science Development National High School of Aklan to Regional Science High School for Region VI in 2001, the sole Regional Science High School in Western Visayas. Another is the establishment of the Numancia Integrated School (formerly Numancia Elementary School) on July 4, 2001, as the first integrated school in Panay Island, which paved the way for the foundation of many integrated schools in Aklan.
Social
Dr. Magdaluyo devoted her career as an educator and a public servant who provided invaluable services in the field of educational management not only in the province of Aklan but also in the whole region. After her retirement, she continued her public service through her involvement in community work and volunteering activities by being active in scouting as the Vice Chairperson of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines – Capiz Council and the Dean of the College of Education of the Northwestern Visayan Colleges (NVC) and eventually, its Graduate School, and as Vice President for Academic Affairs for 16 years.
