BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Date of Birth: September 20,1946
Education: Excels in the field of Linguistics and the Arts, fluent in English and Filipino, can understand local dialects like Cebuano, Chavacano, and Ilonggo.
Birth Place: Tigayon, Kalibo, Aklan
Present Address: 41 Osmeña Avenue Tigayon, Kalibo, Aklan
Age: 76 years old
BIOGRAPHY
Her professional life took on more challenges as she assumed bigger responsibilities besides being a full-time teacher. She joined the search for Outstanding Teacher of the Philippines sponsored by the MetroBank Foundation, Inc., and ranked second in the elementary level. She considers her winning the 2006 Outstanding Teacher Award the crowning glory of her teaching career. Succeeding awards followed suit, namely: Top Caliber Educator Award from the Regional Development Council (RDC) Region VI, September 2006; Outstanding Kalibonhon, November 2006; Outstanding Aklanon, April 2007; Outstanding Alumna of NVC, 2006-2007; and Outstanding Alumna of Tigayon Elementary School, May 2016. After she retired from service on September 20, 2011, she taught English for Grade VI and high school learners at Wadeford School, Kalibo. She received a citation for composing the lyrics of the Wadeford Hymn, which was officially sung during the school’s 10th Founding Anniversary. In 2018, she finally quit teaching and now enjoys life at home with her family. She stays active as secretary of the Banga District Retirees Association and serves as a lector in church during masses.
