The school was formerly known as Nabas Primary School. In the absence of formal school buildings, the classes were held in big houses like that of Capitan Lucio Guevara. On the contrary, intermediate education (Grades 5 and 6) was pursued in Kalibo and Capiz. However, intermediate classes became available in Ibajay and Pandan by the year 1917.
