However, he had faced numerous challenges in making education available in the community. One of these was his request for teachers to teach in schools. Due to political conflict, his first request for teachers in Nabas was denied. Blu was pushed to submit his request in Capiz instead. Fortunately, Diosdado Abalo, the first governor of Capiz, approved it right away.
Spiritual
Mr. Blumentritt was also a religious leader. He made significant contributions to the community's faith and spiritual well-being. His strong sense of empathy, generosity, and compassion made him grant another piece of land with a total land area of 200 square meters for the construction of San Lorenzo Diacono Parish Church. This was done after donating the lot area of 10,000 square meters for Laserna Integrated School.
The Deed of Donation and the Contract of Donation was given to the Roman Catholic Diocese Kalibo. This was his gift to the people of Laserna, Nabas, Aklan before his term ended as the barangay captain. The church was then constructed through “bayanihan” and light materials were being used.
After the church was completed successfully, he retired as a barangay captain and dedicated his life to his family and God. Laserna family is still serving God and people today.
