II. BIOGRAPHY
Mrs. Marilou M. Arcenio was born on October 8, 1948, in Odiongan, Romblon. At the age of six, her family migrated to Oriental Mindoro, where she took her elementary education at Roxas Elementary School and completed it in 1962. Likewise, she completed her secondary education at Romblon College in 1966 and her college degree at the private school dubbed Mountain View College in Valencia, Bukidnon; she completed her two-year program under the Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education (BSE) in 1968.
Mindanao is very far, so she decided to continue her studies at the Northwestern Visayan Colleges and completed the rest of the years at that school in 1979. Thereafter, she earned her eligibility for the Professional Board Examination for Teachers (PBET) that year as well.
In 1972, she got married to a humble gentleman, a bona fide resident of Lezo, in the person of Condrado Mostajo Arcenio, and was blessed with five children who are successful in their chosen careers, namely:

Finance Manager Aklan Electric Cooperative (AKELCO) Lezo, Aklan
As for her work experience, she served as a substitute high school teacher at Lezo Institute (now Lezo Technical College); likewise, at the Roxas Memorial College of Arts and Trades (now Aklan State University) from 1979–1981; thereafter, she became a permanent Secondary School teacher at Altavas National School, Altavas, Aklan, and served there for nine years before she transferred to the District of Lezo as an Elementary Grade Teacher at Lezo Elementary School (now Lezo Integrated School) and stayed there for 17 years.
Thereafter, life in school became more challenging, which motivated her to become Head Teacher III assigned at Ibao Elementary School from 2007–2011, where she retired at the age of 63.
Here are her achievements and accomplishments while in the service.

Writer of the play, performed by students during Education Week Culminating programs. Resource person and coach during the English and Filipino Cultural Presentations Composer and conductor during musical competitions in school.
Lezo Integrated School (1990-2007) District English Coordinator for five years to decrease the number of non-readers from Grades 1 to 6. Two times Outstanding Teacher of the District in Culture and Arts, specifically in "Script Writing". First Division Champion Coach in the Story Telling Contest

Her most unforgettable experience after retirement was when she was elected as Division GPTA Federated President in 2012. As president, she was advised by the division to attend the launch of the K–12 Curriculum at the Diamond Hotel, a 5-star hotel in Manila.
After the seminar, she had the opportunity to approach many parents and school administrations to disseminate information about the new curriculum and submit interviews to the two radio stations, DYRU and Radyo Todo, Kalibo, which helped decrease the negative connotations of many parents and stakeholders about the K–12 curriculum.
Here are some of her achievements/accomplishments after her retirement in 2011.

3. Barangay Poblacion, Lezo Barangay Council Member (2018 to present)
4. Composer and Lyricist of School Hymns as a legacy to the following public and private Schools namely:

b. Catalino M. Prado National High School – Carugdog, Lezo, Aklan
c. Lezo Technical College – Poblacion, Lezo Aklan
d. St. Gabriel English School – Kalibo, Aklan
e. Lezo Integrated School -Lyricist – Poblacion, Lezo, Aklan
5. Composer of the following Barangay and NGO Hymns:
a. Senior Citizens Hymn – Poblacion, Lezo, Aklan
b. Poblacion Lezo, Barangay Hymn
c. Ibao Lezo Barangay Hymn with another version arranged by Dr. Jesse M. Gomez
These achievements/milestones were all done due to her love for her fellowmen and her passion for music which indeed, is eternal.
III. SIGNIFICANCE
Historical Mrs. Marilou M. Arcenio is the composer and lyricist of School Hymns as her legacy to the following public and private schools, namely: Prudencio T. Yerro Elementary School, Catalino M. Prado National High School, Lezo Technical College, St. Gabriel English School, and Lezo Integrated School (Lyricist).
